I wanted the nursery to feel beautiful and elevated while still being incredibly comfortable and functional for both baby and parents. Instead of relying on a traditional rocker alone, I chose a large, cushy chaise lounge — the perfect spot to settle in with baby, catch a few minutes of shut-eye or simply take a break. We also included a separate rocker for those middle-of-the-night feeds and cuddles.

For baby’s sleeping space, we chose a convertible crib that transitions into a toddler bed as he grows. A coordinating dresser and bookcase with refined fluted detailing bring a polished look to the room while providing storage that can evolve with him. The change table can eventually become a regular dresser, while the bookcase can adapt from baby essentials to books, toys and treasures over time.

I also incorporated Montessori-inspired elements to support his development and growing independence, including a shatterproof mirror and pull-up bar to encourage movement, body awareness and exploration as he learns to pull himself up and stand.

For the aesthetic, I layered organic shapes, warm textures and playful artwork to create an upscale nursery that still feels cozy and lived-in. A large organic abstract rug with irregular edges makes a dramatic statement, while a funky piece of artwork adds personality and keeps the room from feeling too precious.

The result is a nursery that feels sophisticated enough for the grown-ups, playful enough for baby and thoughtfully designed to grow right alongside him.
